Your commitment

The Staff Training Specialist Information Technology will design, develop and produce training material in a variety of formats including print, graphics and interactive videos to train employees and students in the use of College wide applications and sites. S/he will provide training, advice and assistance to employees in the use of applications and systems, through group and individual training sessions, in alignment with established policies, procedures and process. The successful candidate will maintain and update a comprehensive database of training resources for employees and students and will upload all resources to the IT Training site on SharePoint in a timely manner to ensure ease of access. S/he will develop training material for new applications or systems, as well as review and update existing training material to ensure it is relevant and user-friendly.

This Staff Training Specialist Information Technology is also responsible for assisting Departments and Schools in designing their intranet sites by providing appropriate access and training in website design. The successful candidate will liaise with the IT Help desk team to process requests relating to access to intranet and other applications, registrations for training session and development of new IT training material. S/he will collaborate with Human Resources and any other relevant stakeholders to plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate quality orientation training. S/he will ensure new employees understand how to use College applications, how to access training resources and will be responsible for coordinating the requests for individual training sessions. This position will require collaboration with other Departments to design, develop and produce training material for new applications, in line with requirements of the application developers and end-users. S/he will also coordinate and evaluate training feedback to ensure the provision is improved and enhanced according to stakeholder requirements.

Skills
Your qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, or a related field, from a recognized, accredited institution, supplemented by relevant work experience. Candidates must possess knowledge of adult education and have experience in the development of educational materials for delivery to peers. The candidate will also require extensive experience in the use of various applications, particularly Microsoft Office, while experience with PeopleSoft and/or SharePoint is an asset. S/he will have experience in the development of training materials, and delivery of training to adult learners in a professional environment. Well developed organizational and analytical skills are essential. The successful candidate must be a highly motivated individual who can work independently and in a team environment. Effective problem solving skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships across all levels of the organization are also required. Candidates must possess strong computer skills and knowledge of learning technologies. A demonstrated commitment to working in a team and learner centered environment is required. Intercultural competence including intercultural sensitivity is essential. Knowledge of CNAQ systems and its programs is a definite asset.
